Antarctica

I was lucky enough to join a ten day cruise around the Antarctic Peninsula, stopping off at scientific research bases and mixing with the cute, but incredibly smelly penguins. Seriously, those birds stink. It's kind of eerie, sailing through the silent seas (when the weather's calm) and the colours seem more vibrant and clear. Perhaps I just wasn't getting enough sleep, though. Those seas can get rough. It's not hard to take striking pictures in this part of the world. Just point and shoot. And hold your breath in if there are penguins around. (click on photos for larger images) |
