My name is Paul Oswell and I'm a freelance writer. My friend Adi once told me that I have 'champagne tastes and shandy pockets'. Travel journalism has often given me a window into a lifestyle that could never actually afford. I don't know, it just seemed to fit, so that's the name. Technically I'm an award-winning journalist, but given that I won that award in 2005, it doesn't really cut much mustard round the dinner table these days, even when I produce the award from my bag and place it down in front of everyone's astonished faces. Oh, well. I am, however, a working professional travel journalist. Since going freelance in 1999, I have been published in the UK, Ireland, the US, and international air space. I've reported from all seven continents, written a couple of books, edited travel guides, written features for national newspapers and magazines, and copy for international hotel chains and tourist boards. I'm always looking to work with travel brands and destinations, so don't hesitate to contact me if you have any ideas (see contact form below).
